This newly formed joint venture will provide the primary US operating platform for Orchard Funds Management, an Australia-based fund management firm. Following Watt's outstanding success with the Centro relationship, Orchard is looking to leverage Watt's expertise and operating strength to help them grow their real estate platform and presence in North America. Orchard Funds Management invests in various types of property, including the retail, office and industrial sectors, as well as a diverse range of non-traditional property assets, such as childcare centers, medical centers and hospitals. The Orchard-Watt Joint Venture will provide acquisition, disposition, asset management, trust management and financing, as well as leasing, property management, and development services. The goal is to build a significant diversified portfolio over the next five years.
